How many times a year are children given a wardrobe?
Dressed for School provides eligible children with a wardrobe twice per school year.
K-5 students receive a full wardrobe consisting of: 5 pairs of underwear, 1 bra (if needed), 5 pairs of socks, 5 top pieces, 4 bottom pieces, and a pair of gym shoes.
Grade 6+ students receive a partial to full wardrobe, including at least: 3 pairs of underwear, 1 bra (if needed), 3 pairs of socks, 3 tops, 2 bottoms, and a pair of gym shoes
All new. All free of charge.

How does a child qualify for a wardrobe?
1/3 of Porter County students qualify for free or reduced meals. Those same students qualify for a wardrobe from Dressed for School.
We also provide wardrobes for families in crisis. This might include those who have suffered a crisis such as a divorce, fire or temporary financial distress.

How much do you spend on average for a wardrobe?
Our wardrobes, including shoes, averages $150 per wardrobe. A student is eligible for 2 wardrobes per year. If you are looking to donate monetarily to cover one student, $300 would be a good dollar amount.

What size clothing and shoes do you accept?
We accept new clothing in kids sizes 4-20.
Shoes:
Kids sizes: 10 - 13
Youth sizes: 1-7
Adult Sizes 7-10
including 1/2 sizes in all categories

Do you accept Kohls Cash?
Yes! We will gladly accept unused Kohls Cash. All you have to do is send a picture of the Kohls Cash (front and back) to info@dressedforschool.org!

All of our volunteers and employees sign a confidentiality policy to serve with Dressed for School. We do not share or sell consumer personal information, mobile or other contact information with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes.
