2026 SPRING DISTRIBUTION IS COMPLETE | LOOK FOR FALL INFO IN AUGUST

Due to construction and relocation within VALE school in spring of 2026, Dressed for School was unable to host school bus trips or private appointments for in-person shopping. Wardrobe requests were fulfilled by delivery.

Dressed for School looks forward to welcoming students and families to their NEWLY RENOVATED Dressed for School store this fall!

How does my child shop at Dressed for School?

We serve Porter County students attending public, charter and private schools whose families are experiencing financial insecurity or are in-crisis.

1. Seasonal Wardrobe Shopping Visits: Shopping at Dressed for School occurs during spring and fall distribution for eligible K-5th grade students

If your child is enrolled in K-5th grade, transportation may be provided from your child's school.  Please check with your school or social worker. If transportation is provided, your child will arrive at the store via a school bus, much like a field trip. Once there they will be assisted by a volunteer to make sure they choose an appropriate, well fitting wardrobe.

If you have an eligible child enrolled in K - 5th grade and your school does not provide transportation, we offer private appointments or school delivery. Appointments are available during spring and fall distribution only.

School referral or proof of eligibility* is required.

2. Hardship and Crisis Clothing Needs: Middle and High School Students who are experiencing a unique hardship and families in-crisis are referred to us from schools and trusted community agencies year round. Please contact your school’s social worker or community agency to discuss your needs and make a referral to us.  We currently do not serve pre-school aged students.

*seasonal wardrobe eligibility= Without a school referral, families must provide proof of need such as participation in government assistance programs (e.g., free/reduced lunch, SNAP, TANF, WIC) and proof of enrollment in Porter County School
