How does my child shop at Dressed for School?

We serve Porter County students whose families are experiencing financial insecurity or are in-crisis.

  1. Shopping Visits: Shopping appointments at Dressed for School occur during spring and fall distribution only

If your child is enrolled in K-5th grade, transportation may be provided from your child's school.  Please check with your school or social worker. If transportation is provided, your child will arrive at the store via a school bus, much like a field trip. Once there they will be assisted by a volunteer to make sure they choose an appropriate, well fitting wardrobe.

If you have a child/children enrolled in K - 5th grade and your school does not provide transportation, please request a 30-minute shopping appointment below. Appointments are available during spring and fall distribution only.

Proof of Porter County school enrollment is required.

If your child is enrolled in Middle School and needs help with their clothing needs, please contact your school’s social worker to make a referral to us. We currently do not serve pre-school aged students.

2.  Families in-crisis are referred to us from trusted community partners year round.

FALL DISTRIBUTION APPOINTMENTS ARE CLOSED - CHECK BACK IN APRIL 2026
